CLARITY EMPLOYEES GEORGE DURZI AND MICHAEL GREENLEE RELEASE FIRST BOOK ON LYNC DEVELOPMENT

Building on their several years of experience developing custom solutions for Microsoft’s Unified Communications platform, two Clarity employees, George Durzi and Michael Greenlee, have written a full-length book on Lync development. The book, Professional Unified Communications Development with Microsoft Lync Server 2010, is being published by Wrox, a brand of John Wiley and Sons, and is scheduled for release on May 23, 2011.

Durzi and Greenlee discussed the book with Wiley after working with Microsoft to build developer training content for the beta release of Lync. “We felt that this platform was going to catch on quickly,” Greenlee explains, “and after seeing developers struggling to get past the basics of Lync development using just the API reference and some sample apps, we wanted to fill the gap with a book that explained crucial Lync concepts to developers completely new to the platform while also showing step by step how to accomplish more advanced tasks.”

The book draws from the authors’ extensive experience with the Lync APIs as well as with their predecessors which were included with Office Communications Server 2007 and Office Communications Server 2007 R2. Clarity used these APIs to build its contact center product for Microsoft Lync, Clarity Connect.
